IBM Youth Ambassador Program

A great opportunity to become an IBM Youth Ambassador (.pdf file)

This program reaches out to young people (16 - 20 years old) to encourage them to give back to their own communities through unique technology programs.

The students meet monthly to learn about technology, its uses and challenges, so that they may then bring it back to their respective communities.

Service learning is a key component of the program. The IBM Youth Ambassadors will provide assistance to our 50 + KidSmart program partners in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. Our Ambassadors aid the pre-school teachers in effectively using their new classroom technology called Young Explorers. The students help by learning about the computer and its software packages and then:

  • Installing updates
  • Fixing minor software/hardware problems
  • Helping children learn the educational software
  • Helping teachers integrate the computer and software into the curriculum
  • Help train new teachers in the use of YEC software

Project Mission:

  • To place tomorrow's technology in the hands of today's youth.
  • To support the IBM KidSmart Early Learning Project.
  • To educate youth to use the Internet safely and productively.
  • To empower youth to enrich the community.

Young Explorer Ambassadors Pledge:

In order for all to enjoy the values of technology, I pledge to uphold the guidelines of Internet safety, lead my community into the future and strive for personal excellence.

Ambassador Goals:
